Samuel Barber's one and only violin concerto shimmers and soars under the capable bow of rising star and Seattle favorite Simone Porter, hailed for her gorgeous tone and technical prowess. Conductor Shiyeon Sung returns to the Benaroya Hall stage to lead Porter and the orchestra in this enchanting work, paired with Korngold’s delightful Dance in the Old Style and Tchaikovsky’s romantic Serenade for Strings.
